I've only had 3 classes so far, but it's been a lot of fun. The classes are "voice-off" which is a cool experience, because you find that your communication immediately changes - which is the point. Some people still mouth words while they sign, and I seriously thought I'd do so too, but I don't. Like, it doesn't even enter my brain to do so, and I also instinctively become more expressive in my facial features. We're told that grammatically you have to raise your eyebrows to ask a yes or no question, but I think even if I weren't told that, I'd have done it anyway, because it happens without me even having to think about it. Same with lowering my eyebrows when I'm asking a more complicated question.
Anyway, it's super fun. I still have to do my homework for this week, mind you, but just because my procrastination habits bleed over into things I enjoy, and not just cleaning the house, isn't a mark of how much I'm enjoying something or not. I enjoy writing, but it's like trying to draw water from stone to get me to sit down and write for any length of time these days.
Okay, that's an exaggeration, but I'm still not writing as much as I should be.
Did I tell you about the self-help/personal-improvement-whatever-t
And who knows, maybe I'll momentarily feel like I'm a capable adult and I'll get some stuff done in the weeks that follow, before I revert back to old habits as we all do.
Speaking of writing:
I'm finally getting to the climax of the next (and final?) installment of the demented'verse... so, that's just a couple chapters away from being done, and then I can get it betaed and posted.
Epic Fantasy Novel is going okay, but just okay. I realized that I got bogged down in world-building and gender-politics, rather than what I originally wanted the novel to be about - which, like most fantasy novels, is the concept of good and evil and how it impacts our society. BUT, that being said, I'm getting closer to the climax of it as well, which means that I'm about 2/3rds done, which is something. It needs a second draft like a fish needs water though, so it's going to be a long-while before it's in any state to show anyone. But the first draft is just about getting the plot down, the second draft will be about making sure I get my descriptions and themes in there.
What else... what else... nah, that's basically it. I should probably actually go write something.
