*clings tightly to Robert Berens*

On her Twitter feed at https://twitter.com/jennydelherpes - she's going to write for Jessica Jones.

I think Berens is safe. My understanding is that many contracts were up this year. Berens started in season 9, Thompson started in 7. I'm guessing 5 year contracts for writers of more than one episode a year, so Berens should have a couple more to go on his contract. Jenny Klein started in season 5. but was only writing on episode a year, so I think she had a different contract.

For some reason no one has been fighting to take the duo away from Supernatural.

I guess I'll just hope that they hire new awesome people. I just feel like we're stepping into an unknown period of the show. When we switched from Kripke to Gamble, there didn't feel like there was THIS much turnover - same with switching from Gamble to Carver.

What is going on?!

Apparently 3 people's contracts came due? I don't know. They've already replaced two of the missing writers - but they seem to be with relatively newbie writers, so there's no way to guess at what the quality of work might be. I mean, they were hired! So, hopefully good! They are two dudes, so that doesn't help the gender balance of the writers room... where, I guess now Eugenie and Nancy are the only two females, now that Jenny Klein has left us.

Anyway... S12 should be interesting one way or the other!

I'm not as upset about Jenny leaving. She was a nice writer but most of her episodes were lighter, and I never thought of her on the scale of Thompson, Berens, or Glass, for that matter.

True. But she was fairly solid, at least.

I think it's more the devil you know, right? I mean - yeah, she's not Thompson, but we still knew her general fingerprint.

I'm sure the new writers will be good too, but right now we don't know what their fingerprints look like and that's a little scary.

Very true. We knew her writing and could count on having a good episode. The one new writer sounds like he might be a good one, but the other one, with only background being writing for an MTV show - that one has me a little concerned.
