My Own Special Hell (AKA: Opinions on Timeline Needed)

As much as Frontierland was awesome, between it and My Heart Will Go On, I now find myself in my own special hell...

It's official: The Writers have f*cked up the timeline.

The problem stems from the fact that for five years the writers have always written the boys as though they are living in present day - ie: when the episode airs is approximately the date the episode takes place in the Supernatural Universe. This was all well and good, and made my timelining job remarkably easy...until this season.

Sam goes into cage in 2010. One Year Later - Sam shows up in Dean's garage. The problem? It's still 2010.

And the past two episode, when for all intents and purposes it should have been 2012, it's been 2011. Due to my time-lining methods, I could ignore all props on the show that had the wrong year, but I can't ignore titlecards and DIALOGUE. The fact remains that last night, Sam both SAID that he was from 2011, and a subtitle told us that March 3rd, 1861, was 150 years before.

So, the question is, what do I do? Narratively, current episodes should take place in 2012. If we go by dialogue and props, than they take place in 2011...and Dean has a "Year That Wasn't" (to steal from Doctor Who).

The options:

A) I ignore the fact that the writers are nincompoops who can't measure time, and I record the timeline as it would if the writers were ON THE BALL:

Example:
End of April, 2012 - We find ourselves in an alternate universe where no one has ever heard “My Heart Will Go On”, because the Titanic never sank.
-Sam reads a newspaper for the "week ending Friday the 29th, 2011". April and July are the only months in 2011 with a week ending on a Friday the 29th. The 2011 is a continuity mistake on behalf of the writers/props department, so I've kept the month but brought the year forward to 2012.

B) I follow the dialogue and props (as much as I can) and put a disclaimer at the beginning of the S6 timeline that explains that Dean's "year at Lisa's" took place in a pocket of unmeasured time...or the secret year 201A that occurred between May 2010 and June 2010.

Example:
End of April, 2011 - We find ourselves in an alternate universe where no one has ever heard “My Heart Will Go On”, because the Titanic never sank.
-Sam reads a newspaper for "the week ending Friday the 29th, 2011." April and July are the only months in 2011 with a week ending on a Friday the 29th.

C)I present both options in some confusing manner:

Example:
End of April, 2011/12 - We find ourselves in an alternate universe where no one has ever heard “My Heart Will Go On”, because the Titanic never sank.
-Sam reads a newspaper for "the week ending Friday the 29th, 2011." April and July are the only months in 2011 with a week ending on a Friday the 29th.

BUT WAIT! THAT'S NOT THE  END OF MY PROBLEMS!

As you can see from the examples above, My Heart Will Go On, appears to take place at the end of April...in some year. However, Frontierland takes place "March 3rd, 1861" and "48 earlier +150 years later"...which, well, would mean that it takes place in March 2011. Which would mean that it takes place BEFORE My Heart Will Go On

Now, these episodes were FILMED in the reverse order and it was a later decision (as I  understand it) to reverse them. So, there are two options here:

A) I ignore the newspaper in 6x17 and say that the episode takes place before Frontierland - so that the episodes chronologically follow each other as they aired.

B) I ignore the "48 hours/150 years" thing, say that it's not EXACTLY 150 years and it's actually 150 years+2months...and place this episode AFTER April 2011.

C) Actually say that the episodes didn't air chronologically and that the events of Frontierland happened before My Heart Will Go On. (This is my least favorite option.)

Ok, so...do I have to put a whole poll up? Ok, maybe I will...

The Year Jump Problem

Ignore the continuity mistake of the writers, record the timeline as it should be.
11(25.0%)
Follow what the writers say. Dean's year at Lisa's took place in a time-pocket. Write Doctor Who Crossover fic to explain this...
16(36.4%)
Record both options for the dates and let your readers decide for themselves

The 6x17/6x18 conundrum

Ignore the date in 6x17, set it before 6x18

It wasn't EXACTLY 150 years...set 6x18 after 6x17.
20(52.6%)
The episodes didn't happen chronologically - set 6x18 before 6x17
