Day 17 - Favorite mini series

Day 17 - Favorite mini series

I don't really watch mini-series. There are maybe a few out there that I might want to watch, but I haven't yet...is Slings and Arrows a mini-series? I always thought I would check that out one day.

So, my answer is going to be...

Twitch City

It's not a mini-series...more like a limited-run Canadian sitcom. I'm not sure what the image of Canada is abroad, but for some reason most Canadian movies have this really weird absurd-yet-dark humour to them. It's very bizarre.

Anyway, Twitch City was a sitcom in the late 90s by Don McKellar, who is a bit of a Canadian Cinema God over here. Don McKellar played Curtis, an agoraphobic television addict, who had to find a new roommate after his long-suffering former roommate was arrested when he accidentally kills a homeless man with a can of cat food. It also starred Molly Parker and Callum Keith Rennie...and, well, maybe you have to be Canadian to appreciate that kind of cast, but I assure it's pretty damn awesome.

Also, the theme song kicked ass. You can see it here in what is probably the most absurd episode of the series.
